New Beginnings: PAC Institute welcomes new students

On Saturday, September 2nd, PAC University welcomed new Pac Institute of Technology and Social Sciences students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Margret Muthwii, Vice Chancellor Designate Dionysious Kiambi, Dr Margaret Mwenje, Director of PAC Institute, Dr Lilian Vikiru, and department heads were among those present. Mr Nicholas Chepkoiyo began the ceremony with a great devotion
Mr. Oyuga, HOD of the communication department, emceed the event, making it lively by allowing parents and students to introduce themselves so that everyone got to know each other.
 He also welcomed the students and told parents that their children's lives will be greatly transformed by the institute. The Vice Chancellor also welcomed the students and gave them an insightful presentation on the university and its many resources.
The PAC Institute will enable students to develop skill competence and knowledge that will enable them to secure employment or self-employment in the job market, according to Dr. Lilian Vikiru, who also welcomed the new students and insisted that PAC is a family and not just an institution, and that parents are welcome at any time to inquire about their children's well-being. Dr. Margaret Mwenje elaborated on how the programs offered in the PAC Institute are referred to as competence-based.
Additionally, CPA Nicholas Chepkoiyo outlined on how to pay fees and went through the fee structure with the parents to make sure they were informed.
With refreshments and a tour of the school's facilities, including the TV studio which is expected to be launched on September 15th, the event came to a close.

 

 


YDP Graduation at PAC University

Pan Africa Christian university holds a graduation ceremony for Youth development program and Transformational church leadership students at CITAM Thika road on April 12th.

The ceremony is a celebration of joy and anticipation as the graduates prepare to take on new challenges and opportunities in their future endeavors.The school registrar Dr. Lilian Vikiru advised the students to be the light that lights up the world as they go into it with the grace God has bestowed on them.

Alumni Office Handover

 Earlier this year, the Alumni Association held its official elections and voted in its new officials.

 On June 8, the alumni had a handover ceremony to welcome the incoming leaders, as the outgoing leadership was appreciated for their work. Judith Githae, the former chairperson, handed over the seat to Sheila Mati as the new chairperson.

VC Visits the Newly Constructed  PAC Restaurant

The VC, Prof. Margaret Muthwii, supervised the progress of the new PAC restaurant, accompanied by the Chaplain, Dr. Thuo Mburu, and Mr. Antony Taiti. 

The restaurant is intended to cater to the needs of PAC students and the PAC community at large. It is located near Block B at the Kilimanjaro Gardens. The PAC restaurant is to operate every day with all kinds of food and refreshments.

The owner of the Rooster’s restaurant will work together with the management of the new restaurant to ensure the smooth running of both restaurants and the PAC’s community satisfaction.

Computing and IT Department Holds a  Cloud Computing  Symposium

On Saturday, June 3rd, Pac University, in partnership with Microsoft Student Learn Ambassador, had a symposium at Conference Hall 1. It was a training on Cloud computing. The event was spearheaded by Sheila Mirenja, the HOD of the IT and Computing department. 

The students were helped to set up a Microsoft student ambassador account, which would expose them to the IT market. Julia Muiruri, the Cloud Advocate at Microsoft, who was the main speaker; she came with the Microsoft Team which included Caroline M. Kausi from Beta MLSA and Laura Chege from Cloud and DevOps.

The three helped the students learn more about Github software and the Azure application, which are some of the most needed tools in the current technological world. 

The event was for all students pursuing business, IT, and ICT. and the main aim of the symposium was to help students who are interested in becoming IT experts, dealing with the new advancements in technology. The group was led through the new ways of using technology to their advantage, including writing their CV and saving it as a link.

 First Students Forum for the May-August Trimester

On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the students' forum took place in the student center.

The meeting, which was the first of two in every trimester, was chaired by PACUSA organizing secretary Emmanuel Maundu.

 Students raised their concerns, which were addressed accordingly.

Staff Fellowship at The Chapel

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, PAC University staff had a fellowship in the Chapel. The staff began the session with interactive games that symbolized the importance of working as a team while also having fun. 

Speaking during the fellowship was the Chaplain of Africa International University, Rev. Canon James Omondi Siwa. 

He urged the staff to see the institution as a mission field where they could minister to members of the community. He also added that the staff should see the need for mental care and support students in need through Christian Union.

  PAC University Hosts Set Book Acts

On Friday, June 16, 2023, PAC University hosted students from three different schools in Nairobi. The students, who slightly exceed three hundred, were here to watch the set book acts that are being performed at the university chapel.

PAC University offered the space to CECEK mentors in theater in education so the students could have a memorable experience and a better interpretation of the books.

 

Freshers Luncheon

On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, the PACUSA leadership organized a freshmen’s luncheon where they introduced themselves to the new students..

The luncheon was led by the chairperson, Mr. Eddie Kinkela, who introduced the rest of his team.

The Dean of students, Dr. Josh Amwago, graced the occasion with pieces of advice and urged the students to join in on the curriculum activities to enjoy everything PAC University has to offer.

PAC University Hosts a Discussion on World Christianity

Pan Africa Christian University was one of the host for a global event on world Christianity focusing on creation and care for the environment.

The two-day event which took place in the university’s conference hall was a concurrent event being posted in Edinburgh University and was being streamed live globally.

Speaking at the event, Professor Telesia Kithini of the university of Nairobi, said that we should use our rationality to help us make a good decision towards humanity.

Also present at the event were masters and PhD students who presented their research papers and got feedback as well as mentorship.

GRADUATION PREPARATIONS

The University is to hold it's 42nd Graduation ceremony on the 14th July. 

The Theme for this year is "Building resilience for the future" On the 12th of July, the graduates will have their Commissioning Service in the morning.

Rehearsals in the afternoon and then followed by the Graduation Dinner in the evening at Safari Park Hotel. 


THE VC AND VC DESIGNATE VISIT THE RENOVATED  PAC STUDIO

 The Vice Chancellor Prof Margaret Muthwii, and the Vice Chancellor Designate Professor Kiambi visit the newly constructed PAC TV studio. The duo expresses their joy at the accomplishment, as they are shown through the establishment by the head of department of communication, language and linguistics, Mr. Isaac Oyuga.

The duo was taken through what goes on on a daily basis in production of news and talk shows, that are set to reach the PAC community and beyond its walls. 

There was a demonstration of the utilization of the equipment used in enhancing production. The VC designate Professor Dionysius Kiambi gave a speech on his amusement of the progress and his expectations from the media team. 

The VC Prof Margaret Muthwii brought the visit to an end by praying for the success of activities carried out in the TV studio.


Eternity Ministries conducts a leadership training for Christian leaders of diverse professions at PAC University

The full week program with faculties vast in different fields, pioneered in Kenya in 2019.

The training aims to equip the trainees with enough skills to help them raise other Christ-like leaders while prepping them for a global purpose. 


South Sudanese Students Reconnect

The South Sudanese students leaders in Kenya meet on Thursday to address issues on their welfare as international citizens.

Their first meeting held at PAC University seeked to counter the problems South Sudanese students face in Kenya, as they discussed ways to strengthen their connection.

The leaders agreed to organize more meetings to reconnect and tackle their issues.

Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology Hosts a Career Open Day

Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology hosts various institutions for the career open day at the KIST assembly grounds on Thursday 30th, March.

The 3-day open day is set to expose KIST students among others, who want to explore higher education including degree courses. Different universities including Pan Africa Christian University, ZETECH, KCA and KIST set up to walk the students through the courses and programs they offer in their various institutions.

In attendance, is the PS representative of the Directorate of TIVET, Mr Joseph Njau. Being a TIVET institution, the Institute only offers certificate and diploma courses. Therefore, this open day should expose students to more career options.

Pan Africa Christian University Host a Vibrant Theatre Experience

         

 On Friday 10 th march, Pan Africa Christian University hosted students’ from 21

different schools in Nairobi. The students who slightly exceeded a thousand were

here to watch the set book acts that were being performed at CITAM Thika

road.

CITAM offered the venue to the students so as they can have a better

understanding of their books and have a fun experience while at it.

The event was sponsored by CECEK Mentors Theater in Education for the

students to have a topnotch interpretation of the set books.

PAC UNIVERSITY WELCOMES THE NEW DVC- ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

  The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Margaret Muthwii, introduced the new DVC- Academic Affairs, Prof. Stephen Muoki on 3 rd October, 2023 during the Chapel Service. The duties of the DVC-Academic Affairs will now be handled by Prof. Stephen Muoki since the outgoing DVC- Academic Affairs, Prof. Dionisiyous Kiambi is in transition to become the next Vice Chancellor after Prof. Margaret Muthwii.   Prof. Muoki is a distinguished academic leader with a PhD in Religious Studies. He has extensive experience in teaching as he has taught in Pwani University for 13 years as well as other institutions such African Nazarene. Prof. Muoki is a PAC University Alumnus, having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology in the year 2000.

THE AFRICA SOCIETY OF EVANGELICAL THEOLOGY HOLDS THEIR 14 ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND AGM AT PAC UNIVERSITY.

  The 14th annual conference and AGM of the Africa Society of Evangelical Theology was held at Pac University in the Conference Hall 1 on 8th to 9th March 2024.  The conference's main topic was The Mission of God and God's Church: The Missiology in African Christianity. PAC University, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Mwaki, formally launched and spoke about the state of the church now and its goals for the future. Dr. Mary Kihuha presided over the gathering and invited our very own student Jashon and Obed to lead the assembly in worship and afterwards Dr. Mwangi then offered a prayer.       Dr. Gift Mtukwa, President of Asset, started out by discussing the situation of theology and the churches on our continent.
